1DOES NOT CHARGE YOUR iPOD!!  May 15, 2010 By Brad "Brad"
Absurd waste of money. Look VERY carefully at the item's description: "Cables To Go 5-foot USB Sync Cable for iPod" Don't read it like a regular consumer and assume that any cable that attaches to a USB port would BOTH sync AND charge the device. Rather, you must read it very literally, like an attorney reviewing a contract. See what I mean? It says "Sync Cable" NOT "Sync and Charge Cable"

This is the most deceptive, lame product I've ever wasted my money on. Why would anyone buy this when there are dozens of others, right here on Amazon, for the same or LESS money, all of which will both Sync AND Charge? No, you don't need to buy the ridiculously overpriced Apple original version. I've bought plenty of cheap knock-off aftermarket iPod charging cables (my wife and daughter lose them regularly, so we need a steady supply). They all pretty much work just fine, and they are just as good as an Apple cable (it's a cable, for goodness sake, not a lunar landing module). Just don't buy this ridiculous rip-off. They saved about 3 cents (literally) by making the plug plastic instead of metal, which means it can conduct the data for syncing, but not the charge for charging. Yeah, I guess you could use it for "syncing only" if you don't mind then carrying around ANOTHER cable to do the second part of the job, but why?

Of course it's not worth sending back, so their cheesy business model survives. Pathetic.

5Very nice cable for the price  Jan 21, 2009 By D. Adams
I was given an ipod Mini with no accessories, so I wanted a very cheap/basic cable to play around with the device. Most stores don't have such cables for less than $20, so less than $10 is quite a nice deal.

While I've never had an ipod, so I can't compare this with an actual apple sync cable, I can say the quality is beyond my expectations. Everything fits together nicely and plugs into the ipod without any issues. I did try a Belkin plug earlier and it was very stiff. I was a bit disappointed when I saw the ipod end was plastic, but this should do just fine. It's probably also partly why it fit into the I/O port easier than the metal-tipped Belkin cable.

All in all, a wonderful spare or replacement ipod sync cable.

5iPod sync and charge cable  Feb 02, 2009 By Jon Cverna
This cable is very well made, complete with push-button locks to secure it to the iPod. The extra length is something that is a real plus for me, since I can more easily reach the AC to USB charger I have plugged into my electrical outlet.

This cable worked out so well for me that I placed a return order for a second cable.

This is not a genuine Apple cable, but in my opinion it is better than what Apple supplies with the iPod.

1Do Not Bother!  Feb 17, 2011 By george g. kammerer
I should have payed attention to the other 1 star ratings. I would send it back if I could. This thing is absolutely worthless. Not only will it not charge my ipad, it will not sync either. I tried time and time again to get it to sync with itunes. Everytime it would either not sync or it would lock up itunes and my whole pc, forcing me to reboot each time.
