Know what you're getting Nov 23, 2010
By C. Fischer I bought this from Eforcity. Using on a 22" LG W2252TQ 1680x1050 monitor.
At low resolutions up to 1280x720 the ghosting/mirroring is minimal, and non existant at 640x480. But when you increase that to 1440x900, 1680x1050 or 1920x it becomes very visible in menus and on text. Despite this I have no problem playing games, it's hard to notice when things are moving, and there typically isn't the contrast between things in a scene like there is between text and a background that makes it pop.
The audio cable is relatively short, but it's RCA so it's easy to extend. No sound quality problems hooked up to my PC's mic-in.
For 1/10th the price of official cables, I'd say the quality beats the price, I will continue to use them.

Don't buy Jan 21, 2011
By Ace I bought this as a cheap alternative to the $40 Microsoft cable, ignoring some negative reviews. All I can say good about it is that it works. The audio quality is fine. However, when it comes to video... I have a 23" monitor with a native resolution of 1920x1080 (1080p HD) and it makes it look like i'm running it at 640x480. It is not shielded, and opening the case of the xbox 360 plug in side reveals a sloppy solder job, mangled together with possible shorts, and hot glue holding wires to the output. There is much visible ghosting, especially when reading text or at any menu. It's alright if you play games with not too much view distance, but I popped in GTA IV and I might as well be blind. It looks like a poor piece of modern art being viewed through a dirty glass window on a foggy day. I get better resolution on my about 10 year old SDTV with the original non-HD component cables. Not to even get into the fact that I ordered it on January 7 and got it on January 19. Save your money, look at other options, but do not buy!

Excellent Product Apr 11, 2011
By Sam Eddy This is an excellent product. Most XBOX 360 VGA cables I was looking at buying were like $30 - $50. I'm pretty sure I bought this one for under $10 including shipping. It's not the most 'quality' cable in the world and the connections are made from fairly cheap plastic but unless you're moving around your xbox a lot and dropping the cable ends you're good to go. I still use this cable right now with my monitor and a fiber optic audio cable. It works great! :) Very very much worth the tiny price :)

This thing works like a charm! Apr 22, 2011
By beefy burrito i bought this cable to lay my xbox on my computer monitor and it works great. i see no ghosting so i dont know why others say they do. IF you are planning on using this like me to connect your xbox it is important that you know that this ONLY provied video but not sound. so you might think of buying a female cable that has the red and white wire int with a 3.5mm jack comming out the other side. that way you can use c speakers or your on pc monitor's built in speakers. hope this review helps!!!

Exactly What I Expected from a $5 Cable Sep 05, 2011
By Adam F. I had been borrowing my roommate's Microsoft-brand VGA cable for a month or so and decided it was time to buy my own. I decided to give this cable a shot first despite mixed reviews on its quality. I opened the package, plugged the cable in and played a game of Oblivion for about 1 minute before I called it quits and switched back to the Microsoft cable.
I bought the VGA cable to get HD quality video out of my first generation 360 on a monitor, so naturally I wanted to run it at the highest resolution my monitor supports (1920x1080 out of my Acer P215H). At this resolution, the ghosting on menus and icons was unbearable. The ghosting was less noticeable on actual character models in-game, but the overall quality of the video was bad enough to make me not want to play anymore. I tried playing on lower resolution settings and the ghosting was less noticeable but still present. I took the cable apart afterwards (I only had $5 invested so why not) and discovered a very sloppy solder job with what appeared to be no shielding. The overall quality of materials was very poor, and the entire product had a lightweight, cheap feel to it. But for $5, it was about what I expected.
Overall, I cannot be too mad considering the price. To me, the $5 was worth it just for the chance of avoiding buying the full priced Microsoft cable myself. If you plan on playing at lower resolutions or aren't as concerned with crisp graphics, this cable might be right for you. For anyone looking for a good looking gaming experience, decide for yourself whether $5 is worth a gamble that you might get a working cable.
