I bought this so my Otterbox could still hook up to my iHome. I read some reviews saying it wouldn't work, but a lot saying it would, so I chanced it and spent the couple bucks. Saldy, it does allow you to charge alright, but it wont play any music or allow data transfer, so I am still having to remove my case every night to plug it in for my rain sounds app to sleep to.
If you just want to extend a charging cable this will work fine, but it WILL NOT play music

This cable is worthless to me. I wanted to use it as an extension for my fm radio transmitter so I would not have to take my cases off my ipod touch and ipad. It does not carry music over the cable!

I bought this product to extend the cable coming out of my car stereo.... It doesn't play music. All it does is charge. This cable is pointless unless you need to charge from further away. No wonder its under $3.
