It looks glossy but the actual product is matte... Feb 02, 2011
By Alexandre Krilov
"ukrainian_kozak"
It looks glossy on the picture, and similar to any other wall-plates... But what I received is a matte white, which had some inconsistent surface visible under certain light angles. The frame is structurally fine, but it looks different then other wall plates. Another negative point is included screws are different as well. they have a combined Phillips/flat head, and the shape of it again differs from standard wallplates. On top of that the holes are a little bit deeper, so even if you use standard screws from other wall plates, the finished look is different as the screws look sunken below the plate surface.

Simple to use but CAT6 needs wall space May 03, 2011
By Job S Tadoo This is just the job for easy wiring. I used two of them to run 100 ft of CAT 6 cable through my attic to connect two rooms underneath. It meant I could buy a cable already wired and just plug it in behind the plate. CAUTION - if you use a CAT6 cable and plug in (buy separately) that clips behind the plate it will need quite a bit of wall-space because the CAT6 cable doesn't bend much and the connector clip is large. If you are planning to use a standard electrical box you may have a tight fit.
